I am a data scientist and PhD student in computational cognition at UCLA. I work primarily as a member of the Reasoning Lab, where I'm advised by Keith Holyoak and Hongjing Lu. My research integrates experiments with individuals and groups in social networks, computational cognitive modeling, and data science analyses of naturalistic behavior to understand how people update and form their beliefs. I apply this research to understand why people endorse misconceptions and to recommend intervention strategies for correcting them at scale.

I've published empirical and data science reserach on the Bayesian mechanisms of science denialism (A Darkening Spring: Priniski & Holyoak, 2022), conspiracy thinking in online social networks (Rise of QAnon: Priniski, McClay & Holyoak, 2022), and developing intervention strategies based on Reddit discussions (Priniski & Horne, 2019). I also enjoy exploring new ways to communicate cognitive and data science work to public audiences.
